CBGB TO RETURN AS FESTIVAL
Legendary and now defunct New York venue CBGB is set to be reborn as a festival, according to reports. Since its closure in 2006, the CBGB name has also been applied to a short-lived fashion store and an iheartradio channel, as well as being subject to a legal battle for ownership amongst members of founder Hilly Kristal's family.

The festival will take place in New York from 4-8 Jul, and will feature film and conference strands as well as music. No line-up has yet been announced, and the festival is still calling on bands to apply to play, though it does claim to expect between 500,000 and a million people to attend.
