Pulp are to be honoured at NME awards later this month...
Pulp are to be honoured for their outstanding contribution to music at the NME Awards, being held at London's O2 Academy Brixton on 29 February.
The band, who reunited last year for a series of shows including Glastonbury, will play live at the event.
Jarvis Cocker's band has had hits with tracks such as Disco 2000 and Common People.
They will be presented with the Teenage Cancer Trust outstanding contribution to music award at the ceremony.
NME editor Krissi Murison said: "Pulp are one of the wittiest, cleverest and most brilliant bands the UK has ever produced."
Pulp also headlined last summer's Reading and Leeds festivals.
Noel Gallagher is to collect the other honorary title, the godlike genius award.
The 44-year-old is also nominated for best solo artist and best album at the awards.
His brother Liam, 39, is in the running for villain of the year as are David Cameron, Nick Clegg, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.
Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye, who formed after Oasis split in 2009, are also nominated for worst band at the ceremony.
One Direction, Muse and Coldplay are also shortlisted.
