Rock City Presents…
The
Selecter
Saturday 30th March 2013
Supported by: Talisman
Doors open: at 6:30pm
The Selecter are a ska revival band
from Coventry, UK. Along with The Specials and The Beat they were one of the
more popular Ska revival bands that were active in the late seventies and early
eighties. The Selecter were successful and had a string of hit singles and two
high charting albums. Their debut album 'Too Much Pressure' featured their most
famous singles 'On My Radio' and 'Three Minute Hero'.
On October 31, 2010 Pauline Black
and Arthur “Gaps” Hendrickson played under The Selecter name to celebrate the
30th anniversary of the seminal debut album, ‘Too Much Pressure’, by performing
the whole album live at the “Sinners Day Festival” in Belgium.
In September 2011 the band released
"Made In Britain" and then toured this album in March 2012 playing 18
dates in the UK; Including an awesome show at Rock City in the Basement. The
tour was such a success, that the band added an 11 date tour for October 2012
for all the towns they missed and we have invited them back to Rock City in
March 2013 to skank it up on the main stage.
