Tony Hazzard wrote hits for Manfred Mann, The
Hollies, Lulu, Herman's Hermits, The Tremeloes, Gene Pitney, and Andy Williams.
His songs have also been covered by Hall and Oates, Cliff Richard, Nana
Mouskouri, and The Yardbirds, among others.
As as session singer he sang on albums by Long John
Baldry, Elton John, and James Last. His award-winning song, Fox On The Run, has
been recorded by Tom T. Hall, Bill Monroe, The Country Gentlemen, George Jones,
Ricky Scaggs, Bare Naked Ladies, The Zac Brown Band, and many more, and has
been viewed 1.4 million times on Youtube.
He has recorded five albums of his own, the latest
being ‘Songs From The Lynher’ on which he plays all the instruments. Produced
by himself, it was mixed by four-times Grammy award-winning engineer, Jerry
Boys (The Buena Vista Social Club).
Tonight’s performance will feature him solo, with just guitar, playing his songs, and recounting stories from his 47 years in the music business. He rarely leaves his home in Cornwall so grab this opportunity!
