Review: Blue Sausage Infant - Manitou

Blue Sausage Infant - Manitou (Alrealon Musique)
For “Manitou” Blue Sausage Infant (aka Chester Hawkins) – with the help of a few guests - layers loops of sounds wrought from an array of electronics, synths, usual and unusual rock / folk instruments as well as literally anything that comes to hand (fire extinguisher / beer glass / bacon).

Where Hawkins is complimented - on “The Moss Takes Over” and “Catoctin” – with Jason Mullinax on drums and the guitars of Jeff Barksy and Daniel Euphrat, tracks are propelled in a more grunge / (Kraut)rock direction whilst elsewhere the glitchy spirals of “How to Achieve Somnambulism”, the drone / noise of “Aphid’s Lament”, together with various skronking dance beats, are pitted against the industrial scourge of “Hosebag” and “Yggdrasil”.
