Dropkick news:
Hi folks.
It's been a wee while since I last sent an update about your second favourite powerpop band Dropkick, so here you go...
For the past few months we've been beavering away in our rehearsal room recording a bunch of new songs, some of which may eventually make it onto our next album sometime next year. We've filmed all the recording sessions too, so you if you want to hear and see the results (or just want to check out what guitars and amps we use), head over to YouTube and search for "dropkick recording" and you should find all the songs without having to trawl through millions of Dropkick Murphys videos. Or if you prefer, just head to www.dropkickmusic.co.uk and you'll find all the links you need. Hope you enjoy the new material - and please let us know what you think of the songs.
Christmas is approaching fast, so if you are struggling for a present for your mother-in-law you could always buy her a couple of Dropkick CDs! We have a special offer available for Twitter followers, Facebook friends and mailing list members only. Basically, you can buy 2 albums for the price of 1. Head to www.dropkickmusic.co.uk/xmas2011 for all the details. Of course if you are feeling festive, you can also still buy last year's Xmas EP "25th December" from our online shop www.tayloredrecords.co.uk. The EP is available on 7" red vinyl or can be downloaded from the usual places. If you buy the vinyl EP, we'll include a CDR of the tracks as well for free. Check out the Xmas video (featuring Alice Marra of The Hazey Janes) here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMhmuXQwkGM&feature=channel_video_title
Speaking of The Hazey Janes, we're playing a rare full band gig with them this week. Here's the details:
Fri 25th Nov @ Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh. Doors 7pm. £5 entry. Supporting The Hazey Janes. Also playing is Riley Briggs (of Aberfeldy) so it should be a top night. If you're in the area, come along if you can.
OK, that's all for now. Hope you have good Christmas and New Year.
Alastair Dropkick.
